Now is the time to get involved. Even if you cannot find the time to hold signs, volunteer at the phone banks, or donate to the campaign, there is one thing we can all do to help Scott Brown: SPEAK UP. We have been silenced for far too long. MA voters who respect and uphold the foundations of our country have kept quiet in the workplace, with friends, at school, for fear that they were alone. We are not alone anymore. We are all Americans, and in these final days of the election I encourage you to make this change in your life. Talk to your neighbors, co-workers, friends, family, classmates. Discuss the issues that are important to you, without fear. Once you speak up, you will be surprised how many people stand beside you with similar passionate beliefs about the direction our country is headed. Democrats, Republicans, and Independent voters are coming together in a way I never imagined possible in Massachusetts. We should all be a part of this historic moment.
Parents, I urge you to allow your young children to engage in the energy of this election. It is never too early to care about what is going on around us. I first became aware of and passionate about our nation's history, elections, and politics during the presidential election of 2000, and I cannot express to you how that learning experience has sculpted my interests and guided my education since. This great nation of ours is in great need of active citizens. Let's all do our part.
