My message to Scott would be Vote No on any tax increase that is considered temporary. Like excise tax in Massachusetts was to be a temp tax but to this day we still have it. That tax was created to fund world war II and never went away after the war ended. There are more but none are more misused than that. There are states that don't have this tax. Some states don't have inspection stickers for cars either. In my own town of Dighton It will be voted on in the March elections is The Massachusettes Conservation Preservation Act. It calls for a 3 percent surcharge tax on our property taxes. The money is suppose to be used for affordable housing, historical preservation, and open spaces. These people pushing for the this are the same people that spend our tax money like its theirs. I am sure the money will not be used for the things its suppose to be used for. It will be used to fill budget gaps caused by over spending. The town workers in the past year voted to up there health insurance for 60/40 to 80/20. Plus they voted to give themselves 2 percent raises. All this while they laid off teachers and cut their pay. I am not a teacher just sick of paying taxes, especially when I pay for my family medical plan. You can just see how the politians ( Obama) mind works. Look at the money the banks paid back from the bailout. 30 billion, now Obama wants to do something else with it. Thats how it works they take your money and play with it, gamble with it, on programs don't work or that put money in a few peoples pockets rather than everyones pockets. .
