Independence Day is a day of remembering, of thanksgiving, and of celebration.
In remembering, I reflect on what the outlay was for our freedom to be an autonomous nation. Peace comes at a price, and if we had never known conflict, we would not truly know the value of this precious endowment. Let us therefore bear in our hearts the memory of all who have given themselves to the service of our safekeeping. May we never lose sight of what our liberty cost.
In thanksgiving, I am mindful that there is no nation like ours, and am grateful that we enjoy the privileges and rights of a nation founded on godly principles of justice.
In celebration, let us assemble in joyful spirit to observe the coming together of our forefathers, who while America was an infant, wisely crafted the Declaration of Independence, declaring that we will be a sovereign nation ruled by her own people.
The United States of America, a powerful nation, purchased by the blood of battle and guarded by the stewardship of her people; may she always reign supreme.
