A few days ago. it seemed certain that this country stood closer than ever to passing legislation that would guarantee healthcare to every citizen of this country and change the way health care insurers do business. Now after all of this work, an almost no name candidate as of only a few weeks ago threatens to stand in the way, in the way of burdening our children with the inevitable cost of an unsustainable reform to our healthcare system, in the way of discouraging innovative medical technologies in the United States, in the way of the first step in whats sure to be a long line of government takeovers that discourage the free open market, the very thing that made this country the great superpower that it is today. Clearly, the one "standing in the way" is the one standing up for the American way. While the Democrats may have good intentions, I don't think the American people, in an already troubled environment, can withstand the indirect taxation of Cap and Trade, on top of health insurance mandates, and what I know will be higher costs, at least eventually, of health care coupled with lower health care standards of health care reform. As if this isn't enough, we are being forced to hand out our tax dollars to bail out organizations that didn't have our best interests at heart, still don't, and never will. Before January 20th, 2009, I was an independent, favoring the side that made the most sense on the current issue, and tended to lean somewhat to the left, after witnessing the bullying, lying, and manipulation that the Democratic party has participated in and succumbed to recently, I have taken a new stance as a Republican, and just in case you somehow havent noticed, I am not alone in this, not by a long shot. Never again will I be independent, not after I have seen the corruption involved in the Democratic process, I will not allow this party the chance to corrupt and manipulate any longer with a Democratic vote. Martha Coakley, I truly hope you are listening, I am one of many who are not going to forget this last year, no matter who wins, and no matter what policies Democrats manage to ram through against the will of the American People. The only advice I can offer you is to re-consider what it is you are doing, before the Democratic party is referred to in past tense. This is a wake up call not just for you Martha Coakley, but for every Democrat, You want to be a Senator, yet you aren't even there yet, and already are not representing the will of the American People. While I am not a resident of Massachusetts, I know there are many who are who would say the same as I do. Its time for you to re evaluate just what it is your party is doing.
