I guess you lied to us when you told us what you would do for America and Massachusetts

I'm sorry, Senator, but what baloney you are shoveling. I'm so sick of this "the bill's not perfect but it's better than nothing" spin to support voting for legislation that just isn't good enough. 2900 pages of legislation, that I doubt you or any other Senator has read in its entirety, is going to have plenty of things wrong in it, but there's nothing more wrong than the lack of reform for Fannie and Freddie. They were (with the support of Frank and Dodd) the real reasons for the current collapse of the real estate market, yet you say we'll see what we can do to fix them in the future. What a joke! You know they're broken. Do something about it now, or don't vote for the bill until they are fixed. Use the leverage of your vote to make change now! Do what the people of Massachusetts sent you to do - to be a leader, not a follower.

You said you waited until the $19M of bank taxes were removed. Big deal. The money was just reallocated from unspent TARP money. This was not the purpose of TARP, but when does this administration ever follow the rules. It's a continuing shell game that uses trickery and slick talk to baffle the American people.

Like others, I'm very sorry I contributed to your campaign. Your support of this bill and lame attempt to validate it makes you just another RINO. I gave you my money because I thought you represented change and had enough backbone to stand your ground. Apparently I was wrong on both counts.

Another sad day in America. I'm so afraid we are losing this great country, and to know I gave money to someone that's contributing to the downfall of America makes me angry. If you vote for this bill, you'll never see another dime from me, and I'm sure many others. This vote will seal that you won’t be re-elected to another term.

Hello, Brian.

Do you honestly think Scott Brown (or any Senator) has read the bill? It's well over 2,000 pages. Even Chris Dodd, one of the authors of the bill, said he doesn't know everything that's in it. I'll guarantee that there is pork in the bill.

Brown said the bill if far from perfect, but like others, spews the rhetoric that it's better than doing nothing. How? Like most of the legislation of the last couple of years, we're told that there's such an urgency that doing nothing means catastrophe. Baloney! Take TARP, for example. If we didn't approve it right away, the economy would collapse. Yet, much of the TARP money hasn't been spent. I was in Alaska last week, and visited the Mendenhal Glacier. There was a sign there saying TARP money was at work for us. How is that saving us from financial ruin?

Even Scott Brown concedes Fannie and Freddie need complete overhaul or replacement. Yet, this financial bill does nothing to correct this. How can you have financial reform without it?

There is nothing forcing this bill be passed immediately. The real urgency is the Obama administration understands after the November elections they won't have the plurality they currently enjoy.

Part of the legislation is to prevent us from having to bail out financial institutions in the future. Yet, nothing currently compels the government to do that now. I would have preferred we let some of these firms failed. And why did the government force the money on banks that didn't want it? I much prefer that we craft a bill that is true financial reform: one that cures the problems in Fannie and Freddie especially, that encourages growth in the private sector, and punishes those that do wrong, including those in government. The current bill does none of this.

Like you, Brian, I commend legislators that DO review every bill and make educated decisions rather than rubber-stamping. Scott Brown said that's what he would do. The problem is, he's not doing it in practice.

Thanks,

Kevin

I feel Scott Brown is actually doing what he is supposed to do. He is reviewing each bill that crosses his desk and makes an educated decision based on what is best for the people then just following party lines. I like how he reviews the bills and actually looks for the pork then just rubber stamping them. I still support Scott Brown and I still believe in what he stands for.
