Brad Hansen's Daily Blog Post - October 29th AND 28th

Good Evening,

First of all, let me apologize for not posting last night. Due to technical difficulties the post did not make it onto the Brown Brigade. For that I am sorry.

As for tonight, I wanted to let you know what steps we have taken over the past 48 hours to move Scott towards victory. Here are a few action points:

Regional Area Coordinators

We currently have four regional area coordinators in place across the state to set up call centers and locations to pick up signs and bumper stickers. The four coordinators are as follows:

Robert Fortes - Greater Boston
robertfortes@brownforussenate.com

Matt Grew - SE Massachusetts
matt@brownforussenate.com

Joe Walsh - North Shore
joe@brownforussenate.com

Robert "Bob" Lashua - Central Massachusetts
bob@brownforussenate.com

These individuals are your contact points for getting involved. Please contact them if you are interested in volunteering or to inquire about signs and other print media. We are interviewing for a Western Mass Coordinator and should have one in place in the coming days.

Game Plan

The strategy for winning an election is simple - make sure that you have 50% plus one vote on Election Day. However, implementation is the hard part. The goal of the Brown Brigade is to reach out to those voters who are sure to turn out in Scott's favor. In 2008 over 950,000 people turned out for Jeff Beatty in the US Senate Race. If we have this EXACT same turnout, we win. Simple.

Here's what we have to do to make that happen:

Call Centers

You are going to hear me talk day after day about the importance of call centers. With the massive data system that the Republican Party has, we know not only who voted last year, but we know exactly who voted for whom in many cases. In this short election, we must reach those folks who voted for Republicans and who may not get out to the polls. The only way to do such a thing is a targeted approach to these voters.

I know, enjoying coffee with a group of friends while holding a sign for a standout is fun. I've been there and I loved it. However, you will get a handful of waves, some honks, and possibly some rude gestures and no hard data to show for it. You don't know if the people who waved are old enough to vote, are registered to vote, or even if they can vote legally. However, with phone banking we can target EXACTLY those voters who can and have voted in the past for Republicans, making sure our voters get to the polls come Election Day.

Because of this, we need you to come out and make some calls. Remember, each yes vote for Scott you reach on the phone is one vote closer to seeing Senator Brown in Washington.

Invite Your Friends

No matter what email address they use - gmail, hotmail, yahoo, or any other - you can invite your friends using the "invite" option from the top menu. Please invite as many folks as possible!

With that, I'll sign off for the night. A lot of information from the field, but know the campaign is moving on all cylinders to get Scott's name out and to reach those voters!

Thank you!

Hi John, the campaign is working on setting up phone banks across the state. We are asking for everyone's help to identify friendly businesses that will allow us to use their phones after 5:00. Real estate offices, travel agencies, law offices etc.... Do you know of any in the Wrentham/North Attleboro area?

I may have to return to my old stomping grounds in Needham/Newton to do phone calls unless there is a way to call from Wrenthem/North Attleboro area or from home. Does anyone know?

I was getting a little discouraged with campaign thrust. It is encouraging to see some organization initiatives. I will be in touch with my area coordinator for any kind of help I can provide.

1. Are you in contact with Earl Sholley and Jay Fleitman? Earl knows the contacts here and Jay Fleitman needs help, possibly pool resources to cut cost.

2. I need a flyer to hand out, see attached file for sample

Richard,

We are interviewing a candidate for our Regional Area Coordinator in Western Mass tomorrow. My apologies about not putting this in the blog. We're excited to work with you and all Republicans out in Western Mass! Please get more folks to join the Brown Brigade and get out the vote for Scott!

Thanks!
