I have not read the finance bill....

Although I have not read the finance bill , I am leery of these giant bills. You sound as if you have read it,Scott, and understand what is in it. I assume you are working for your constituents in MA., including those financial companies I use.
With that said, the Dems have been governing so hard against the will of the people , it seems to me the people deserve to be heard in the next election , much like they spoke in yours. I think waiting for all major legislation until after the election out of respect for the citizens is a sensible compromise. If the people change governments so be it and likewise if they ratify the course the Obama administration is on then that is that. I don't see the need to rush anything though right now unless it is to sidestep the voice of the voters. What would be lost if you take a bit of time , maybe look over those 2000 pages a bit more, and let all the voters tell you what we think in Nov.

Thanks for this forum , it is a good opportunity to share some real opinions.

Oh,and Kevin, can you please spare some change to help us get rid of Barney Frank. Earl Sholley could sure use your help. It's his third time running against the machine. Help make it be the "charm"

I was Samantha all the way before the election, and now I'm ready to vote for KEVIN, as are so many others, albeit with broken hearts.

One further thing, Samantha. I'm not the one damaging Senator Brown. With his vote today, he's damaged himself, hopefully irreparably.

Dear Samantha:

A liberal Democrat? Are you high? I'm not the one extolling the virtues of this turncoat Senator. In NY, I was a registered Conservative, and am only registered as a Republican now because FL doesn't permit registration as a Conservative. The amounts aren't your business, but here's four lines from my January 2010 MasterCard bill. Hardly looks like a liberal's spending habits:

12/31 THE HERITAGE FOUNDATIO 8005462943 DC
01/12 ICONTRIBUTE LLC 202-3792908 VA (this was for Brown)
01/23 MARCO RUBIO FOR US SEN 703-9536711 FL
01/23 CNP.BACHMANN FOR CONGR 8668948020 GBR

Kevin............I already explained that in my previous comments. My guess is that you are a liberal Democrat. You never backed Senator Brown and you've got nothing better to do than come on here and try to damage the Senator. No cupey doll here folks!

I am dissapointed that the electorate did not have a chance to speak in the Nov election prior to another 2000 page mystery bill moving forward especially at the hands of Republicans. I hope it does not do more damage to our struggling economy. Maybe it will be for the best and inspire an even more engaged group of citizen voters. Washington seems to be at odds with the citizens of the country.

And that's not gushing, Samantha? You have one thing right, though. Brown is a very good politician - he fooled enough of us to donate money and elect him.

There is no way Senator Brown dissected the bill. Dissection takes more work than reading, and there's no way he read all 2,000+ pages of this monstrosity. Even if he did, finding "enough good in it to vote yes" is not a good reason. What about all the bad, and even worse, the total lack of reform for the biggest culprits in this financial mess - Freddie and Fannie.

If you are so tight with the Senator, why not ask him what's the rush to push through a bill he admits is lacking?

This is not a perfect world nor will it ever be no matter which party is in power. Senator Brown dissected the bill and found enough good in it to vote a yes. I am not "gushing" over him. I merely understand his reasoning and agree with his vote on this bill. He is a very good politician and I say it's about time we have more just like him in Washington. I worked very hard to send Senator Brown to Washington and will work just as hard to keep him there, as long as he wants to stay. Massachusetts is lucky to have such an upstanding and savvy guy as this representing us.

Geez, Samantha, how many Brown posters do you have in your home? It sounds like you drank the Brown Kool-Aid the way you gush over him and defend everything he does.

If Senator Brown is one of the finest men we'll ever meet, why doesn't he have the backbone to refuse to vote for a bill that even he says "is far from perfect" and admits it doesn't do anything to address Fannie and Freddie, the two most dangerous financial institutions in this country. He should wait until there is a decent bill that has real financial reform, not this sham that just looks to punish and handcuff the free market.

P.S. Senator Scott Brown is no kool-aid drinker nor am I. He's his own man, does his homework and then, and only then, does he cast his vote. In my opinion, he is one of the finest men you'll ever meet personally and is a savvy and shrewd politician. We, in Massachusetts, knew who we were sending to Washington.........no doubt about it!
