I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside, and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families. This Senate jobs bill is not perfect. I wish the tax cuts were deeper and broader, but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work.

I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability. I hope for improvements in that process going forward. All of us, Republicans and Democrats, have to work together to get our economy back on track. I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington.

Big talker in Massachusetts but little man in DC. Hey Scott, are you intimidated to stand for what WE believed were your convictions?? Perhaps you are a democrat in republican/conservative clothing. How the hell will a jobs bill help us??? Government HAS NO money only what they steal from us. Private enterprise and innovation create jobs and the number of jobs that can be created is not finite. Spending more money which WE DO NOT HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you so stupid not to know this??? Better take an Econ 101 course pronto!!! After calling friends for you, sending emails for you, contributing to your campaign I now have a dagger in my back. You have back stabbed us, sucker punched us, mugged us:

But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door;
Then upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking "Nevermore."

NEVERMORE SCOTT!!!!

Every member of Congress affects every individual's life. That is why I contributed to your campaign even though I don't live in Mass. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! The very first opportunity you get, you violate every campaign promise you made! Do you think those people were chanting "41" just for the possibility of stopping Obamacare? It was to stop ALL frivolous (i.e. unconstitutional) spending! ENTREPRENEURS create jobs! NOT GOVERNMENT!!! When will politicians get that through their heads? You say, "I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work." You mean like forcing an employer to make up to a $106,000 investment in an unemployed worker for a year for up to a measly $7100 SS payroll tax break?!!! TELL ME HOW THAT MAKES MATHEMATICAL SENSE?!!! Your job is to read Article I Section VIII of the Constitution. If any part of the bill you're voting on doesn't fall into one of these categories (even if some of the bill is valid), YOU VOTE IT DOWN!!!! EVERY TIME!!! Go to Washington and sit there until something comes across your desk that fits into these 18 powers, and I mean truly fits under the original intent. The commerce clause DOESN'T pertain to INDIVIDUALS, and the welfare clause means the federal government would ALWAYS make sure some rogue group didn't try take away our FREEDOM!!! I sure hope some of the 2.5 million federal workers with an average salary of $30,000 more than the average private sector salary, are reading these posts and reporting back to Congress and the President that if you VIOLATE ANY PART OF THE CONSTITUTION (R or D), WE - ARE - GOING - TO - TAKE - BACK - OUR - SEATS!!!!

What a strange vote today - you went to DC to vote against spending and promptly voted for a whole bushel of misguided over-spending with minimal benefit per dollar wasted (again!). The "emperor" who had no clothes (at some points) has now put on clothing of the most wasteful, dishonest, back-room, workers in the DC political pig sty. If this is what we can expect, it's very sad. You've been there less than a month and it's politics as usual. I think you need a "clothing" consultant - who does what he said he would do.

Grampa where have you been for the last couple of years? Scott has done nothing he did not say he was going to do. He voted for this bill to come to the floor for discussion. He said he would review each piece of legislation and would be an independent thinker. His vote would not have changed the outcome either way. The man has been in DC for 2 weeks. I think the dangerous "fool;"as you say may be someone else. Scott has been in public service for many years with a solid record of achievement. Let him establish one now nationally before you condemn him. The one much more frightening that has been elected and continues to be worshipped by a mesmerized citizenry is not Scott, but Obama.

"I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability."

But the Democrats wanted your vote, and obviously it doesnt take much to get it. Not as much as it takes to get you to keep your campaign promises about who you are and how you'll vote in Washington.

I still don't get it. If you want bipartisanship, why not votefor GOOD bills not bills that by your admission were crafted in a partisan manor by the Democrats and which are clearly, again by your own admission, flawed. Whatever happened to "we can do better?" Have you so quickly abandoned that for "reelect maverick Scott Brown who votes just like Kennedy would!"?

“The danger to America is not Scott Brown but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with elected office. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of a senator than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their representative.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Brown, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Scott Brown, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their senator.”

10-29-09 Scott Brown on a second stimulus

"...The state has lost 32,000 jobs since the stimulus passed in February, and nationwide the job loss is over 2.6 million. All of my opponents in the race for U.S. Senate have said they are open to a second stimulus bill. That is the wrong approach. Let’s fix the one we have now. Our country can’t afford any more stimulus spending that adds to our deficit...”

YOU LIE!

12-14-09 Scott Brown on controlling the federal deficit and reducing the national debt

Out-of-control spending threatens America’s future, Taxpayers cannot support mountains of debt
Senator Brown is a budget hawk who supports a temporary freeze on non-defense discretionary spending. Any serious effort to control the deficit and start reducing the federal debt must begin with no-nonsense spending restraints. According to the White House Office of Management and Budget, non-defense discretionary spending is on track to increase by 16% this year, the highest one-year increase since Jimmy Carter in 1978. If America continues on this unsustainable fiscal path, it will lead to higher and higher taxes, a potential loss of confidence in the dollar and add to the nation’s extraordinary debt burden, now at $12 trillion and counting. A freeze on non-military budget accounts is necessary to put the brakes on Washington’s out-of-control spending binge and allow lawmakers to come up with a long-term strategy to reduce the deficit.

Truth in advertising? Hmmm.
