I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside, and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families. This Senate jobs bill is not perfect. I wish the tax cuts were deeper and broader, but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work.

I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability. I hope for improvements in that process going forward. All of us, Republicans and Democrats, have to work together to get our economy back on track. I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington.

Ok Jeffery and Lindsey, since your so fond of spending bills. Why is it that Benedict Brown or anyone else in congress would need to hold a vote on a 15 billion dollar "jobs bill" when they have only spent $350 billion of the original $800 billion in the first stimulas bill ? Why can't we just take it from those funds ? If I remember correctly that money was there to create............oh yea, jobs ! And by doing so we were promised that unemployment would not go above 8%. Howz that workin out for ya ? Where are all those jobs ? And you want to pile on even more debt and more taxation ? For what ?The government doesn't create long term meaningful jobs w stimulas money. Only the private sector does. Once the potholes are filled and the bridges are repaired, people are sent home. And we all continue to pay taxes to support salaries that have already been paid for jobs that are long since gone. You two aren't intelligent enough to be on this website. Fire away !

Now Matthew,
It didn't take much time.
Was Grandpa's feelings hurt?
You have to be thick-skin when the discussion involves politic, politicians and someone's opinion.
I think Grandpa can take care of himself. I hope but he sounds pretty drunk too.
All of you should go to AA. Than you'll sound lucid.

This website breaks it down pretty well:

Although I'm not keen at all on all the public sector jobs funding, it does look like there's some things in it for small business. I know Scott is a small business proponent and trust that he'll focus on that portion of this bill.

Lindsey you stated earlier that this jobs bill will create jobs because of a $1000 tax credit if employers keek their new hires for 52 weeks. Do you still believe that because I'd love to know your logic behind this statement?

I guess my point is that your spending more of your time telling Grandpa to move to russia and berating him everytime he makes a good point. Instead of explaining why he is wrong you suggest he jumps on a plane to Russia. I think you can do better than that.

I did Matthew.
I've given many concrete, constructive comments.
I can always copy and paste them for those who haven't read them.
But that will only be redundant.
Unfortunately, you'll have to go through the blogs assigned to my name.

Lindsey could you try bringing some usefull thoughts to the discussion or are you content trying to insult the people that are actually bringing great ideas and thoughts to this page?
