I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside, and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families. This Senate jobs bill is not perfect. I wish the tax cuts were deeper and broader, but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work.

I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability. I hope for improvements in that process going forward. All of us, Republicans and Democrats, have to work together to get our economy back on track. I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington.

Tim do you know why too many people lost their homes over the last two years? Because they spent thier money like the federal govt. money they didn't have but they felt they deserved a bigger or nicer house than they could afford.

Tim your comment makes no sense...I just pointed out how we solve unemployment and create jobs. I asked you to explain how this "jobs bill" actually creates jobs. Is it that easy to convince you that this bill accomplishes something just by calling it at jobs bill? Please explaine to me how this bill actually creates jobs or are you just blindly following someone you put too much trust in.

And I mean it.

Do you want more unemployment or jobs? Jobs let people earn money to pay for their homes, autos and etc. Unemployment does nothing but give money away and what happens when the unemployment funds run out? How many more people will lose their homes? At least the jobs bill does something besides sticking your head in the sand and hope all of this goes away. Try something to help American get back on its feet rather than do nothing. We are in a world of hurt right now.

Tim this is not a start. You say we need jobs to get the housing market growing how does this bill accomplish that...with a $1000 tax credit? Your being fooled and it almost seems willingly.
If you want our country to prosper encourage your senator to put up a bill that will cut govt spending and include across the board tax cuts.

From one grandpa to another I think Scott did the right thing by not playing politics and doing what he thought was best for the American people. The bill is not perfect but it is a start. American has too many people out of work and who pays those unemployment benefits? We need jobs to get the housing market to growing. When the housing market is good our economy is good. Congress needs to consider first is this good for America and if it is not then vote NO. Porkbarrelling needs to me outlawed.

You assumptions Mr Brown are baseless and a sham. This bill will grow no new jobs but add overwhelming cost to the American public and it's business laying off more people...those are the facts and your BS statement and closed door tactics make me sick, sir. America is not stupid as your president says. Shame on you and your tactics of fraud on America. Good hard working people believed in you and they were stabbed in their backs once again by people like you and your family. Go to hell. We know now how we have been had...but yours is coming soon. Count on it. I grew up in Massachusetts and you are a disgrace to my ststae.

Tim and Jeffery since your both so fond of this bill please tell us how this bill is good for the American people. You say most of congess stinks...its not because their partisan its because they all agree to spend this country into bankruptcy! This is not Scott Brown being an independant voice, this is Scott Brown voting for so much of what he campaigned against.
