To my fellow Americans:

My name is Jaye Strait. I live in Southbridge Mass. I'm registered voter (I) and I exercise that right in every election since 1972. Like many (I) independent voters of my generation, I tend to vote for the candidate whom I think represents traditional American values and the one seems the most competent leader. Making this determination accurately has become increasingly difficult (to state the obvious) since the "Watergate" scandal of the 1970's

The media it seems gives liberal (D) candidates more exposure with a positive spin and Republican & libertarian candidates less with a more negative spin or none at all. I'm confused about the individuals running because I look to the media in all it's forms to inform me truthfully about my choices. That principle "Choice" and making the right one is crucial to America's future. Sadly the media cannot be relied on to deliver the goods. The media is a vital part of our founding principles of freedom. We as a people cannot be truly free without an impartial media. Reading and watching a wide variety of sources can help but doesn't give you the complete picture either. In the end gut feelings and self interest are what drive my decisions when I enter the voting booth not ideology. I vote for the candidate I think represents founding principles of America and most competent regardless of party.

Today and for this most important "Special Election" Scott Brown is that candidate. I feel that our country is off the tracks. I see nothing but more bad news for me and my family in the future. We my family and friends are afraid of what is happening to our country. What will become of us? The reason I have no faith in the leadership in Washington is blatant corruption, Incompetence. In addition, ONE PARTY (D) in control isn't good at all. "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely". This is a very dangerous combination of power, incompetence, and political correctness that in the end equals disaster. Scott Brown if elected can change that. We can make history by electing Scott Brown to the US Senate . Thank you

Isn't it astounding how the Dems don't get it? It's just silly. I got calls from 14 states yesterday with words of support for the "CAUSE" Scott Brown Represents and carries with him to Washington. The CAUSE defined is our politicians need to work together and compromise and do the PEOPLES work. The notion that Dems think people will believe we are angry from 8 years ago is pure nonsense. The media seems to be stunned and in disbelief as well. They ought to understand that Scott and many other like minded politicians have explained it quite clearly. The searching for answers as to our mind set on these issues appears labored to me. Scott is a new breed of republican. I call "Rock n Roll Republican". I've clearly stated before that as an (I) voter I think the Republican Party is out dated and out of touch with me. The Dems are way off track too far left. We like Scott Brown because he, like us, can relate to the Right & to the Left. He capable of compromise. His politics are correct moving forward in this century and the new and complex problems we face together. "United we stand divided we fall." Boy oh Boy have we fallen in the last year. I hope Scott Brown ushers in a new era of cooperation and progress leading America forward. If we can elect more Scott Browns around the nation I think the CAUSE has a chance to succeed and America will begin anew. We can do better!

Pretty good parallel, Jaye. Damn good as a matter of fact. I'll risk projecting that that image converted a lot of Tories to the Patriot cause; as has Scott Brown, another militia Lt. Col.. Remember the Patiot numbers were not that high in the total population of the Colonies - until someone proved making the difference was worth the effort.

According to history when Washington visited New England on his "Victory Tour" The New England Spy described his appearance as "Aglow". I believe that this phenomenon is a visual manifestation of positive energy absorbed and reflected by and greatly admired individual. Thus was the case with George Washington and as it seems to be with Scott Brown.

We must understand that Liberty is not free! This includes " Holding your nose to vote". Independent voters must do this most of the time nowadays I'm afraid. This is not one of those times. Voting the lesser of two evils has become the norm in the past 30 years. Since Watergate the press drives off talent "Good People" leaders. Ask yourself why would anyone of this stripe risk his or her fortunes for us? Ask yourself is the seat worth it for Scott Brown? He's worked hard for what he has. He has served us for years in many ways. He has a wonderful family. Does he not have great fortunes to loose? Never mind the Truck his family, reputation and most of all his happiness. If we the people do not value his happiness what about our own? If we cannot acknowledge his sacrifice we don't deserve his leadership. He's one of us. We the people! We must support him or we the people fail ourselves.

I had the honor to shake his hand at Worcester yesterday. He'd come to the hotel after his speech to see us. It was later he was standing on the street in the failing light in the rain speaking to each and everyone waiting there so relaxed and "Present" he was aglow. He reached out and touched my hand. A Washingtonian moment I'll never forget.

David you are a gift to us. Your wisdom is vast without boundaries. This is the absolute best description of the true meaning of liberal I've ever read. I think you deserve to be heard by many. I wish I could advance that in some meaningful way. I think Scott could use you in his staff in Washington. There is nothing which can better deserve your patronage than the promotion of knowledge and the people who share it with others.

Here's an irony to consider. In the best, "best" interpretaion of the American way of life, one would say it is "liberal". Traditionally, in political philosophies, this has meant "Thinking" and allowing individuals to freely pursue what they think - not feel - is best for thier community. The current identifiers with that term have a perverse mis-interpratation of thier own idenntity. I interpret PC as political constipation.
I find my conservative commitment to be one which allows and protects the public and its many inividuals to pursue thier goals un-impeded by a dogma of political rote that they "Liberals" would persecute and prosecute. "Liberals" as we see them acting as they do today are not at all 'liberal".
Those of us, engaged in this campaign, are doing so liberating ourselves, and hopefully the Commonwealth, from the presumed obedience that "Liberals" demand.
And, it's OK to have fun doing it. In my late sixties, I have to say, I almost got teary (not my usual style) yesterday on Huntington Avenue just to share the turf with you guys.

Hi Jaye

As I read what you and others have posted here I find myself in almost total agreement. Unlike you I haven't voted in several years because I've been so disgusted by what I see going on around me from extreme political correctness to the gradual erosion of our liberties with the blessing of our arrogant media leftist elite. I generally get so angry when I think about it that words fail me and it's hard for me to be rational much less eloquent. My vote for Scott Brown tomorrow will be the first positive comment I will have been able to make for years.

You know, as I read the latest reporting on the election tomorrow I think that - once again - they've got it wrong. This choice is being described in simplistic and dramatic fashion as a battle of the pro and contra health care forces which, for me, is not at all what my vote is about nor what Scott Brown is about. My vote is about what you and others have described here much better than me.

Here's another example of what you can expect from liberals. They pretend to be accessible, knowledgeable, caring, devoted, leaders and whatever the reality is quite often the opposite. If I were that reporter I'd sue her campaign. Principle trumps arrogance. Everyone thinks it's great that Bubba coming to help Coakley. He's a "Impeached President". In our house a philanderer, traitor a disgrace and embarrassment to America. The Pres. taking out and ad in support of Coakley shows the desperation of the Dems. The ad says to me they know we are right and they know if we win they are done. The imbalance of power must end. Now! The Coakley ad just came in the mail. " What can BROWN do for you? " Deliver Liberty and justice to all." GO Scott GO
