Why is "Senator" Kirk still voting?

Several newspapers outside Mass. have commented that Kirk is still voting even though his "term" ended with the special election and not when Scott is seated. Why is he still voting?

IF YOU'RE GOING TO FREEZE MY PAY, CUT BLOATED BUDGETS AND SPENDING FIRST, THEN DO A FREEZE/

Scott has mentioned he wanted to freeze my pay (federal employee). This seems fair because he saved my health care. However I would suggest he take Paul Ryan's advice and seek funding cuts (look at agencies with bloated budgets like EPA), curb spending and then see what needs to be frozen.

People's seat needs weekly or bi-weekly Brown Bulletin (US Senate Version) soon!

What better way to start the next election than to modify the Brown Bulletin for the US Senate similar to the format used by Reps: Paul Ryan, John Boehner, Michele Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn, Sue Myrick; Senators: Tom Coburn, Bob Corker, Lisa Murkowski, John Cornyn, and John Barrasso. That is, if the staff is willing to take suggestions.

A GOP Road Map for America's Future (Paul Ryan (R-WI) article in WSJ Opinion)

By PAUL D. RYAN

In tonight's State of the Union address, President Obama will declare a new found commitment to "fiscal responsibility" to cover the huge spending and debt he and congressional Democrats have run up in his first year in office. But next Monday, when he submits his actual budget, I fear it will rely on gimmickry, commissions, luke-warm spending "freezes," and paper-tiger controls to create the illusion of budget discipline. Meanwhile, he and the Democratic congressional… Continue

Suggestions for Senator Scott Brown

January 26, 2010

Office of Senator Scott Brown

United States Senate

Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Brown,

Congratulations on our victory. As a member of the “Brown Brigade”, I enjoyed being a part of history.

In case you haven’t had the opportunity, I hope you will meet the following members of Congress within a short period of time. I subscribe to their emails and I think they will be a valuable resource for you in DC. In addition I hope your staff… Continue

Great Time at Boston Phone Bank

Thanks to the Boston staff I made my first calls Monday when I was able to get some time off. They were very patient with me. I did discover that if you mention Scott Brown and the caller says "Oh my God! and hangs up, he's probably not going to vote for Scott. That only happened once in the 3 hours I was there. I did feel like I contributed- weeding out the wrong numbers and leaving voice mails to most of the callers. I did get more encouraging calls even from those undecided. And most who… Continue

Town Hall Meetings if Martha won't debate?

Does Scott have time to have perhaps 4 town hall meetings around the state rather than debate Martha? He already knows the key issues to voters because his phone banks collect data. I think Scott's biggest positive is that he will vote against the healh care bill and cap & trade and will seek bi-partisan common sense solutions which won't raise taxes, add to the deficit and most importantly to seniors and women of all ages maintain the quality of their health care- fixing not destroying the… Continue

Read Herald Story on Debate and comments

Comments on Herald debate story should cheer up those of us bummed out about health care bill. Wish there was a Rasmussen poll out but I think this race will be a lot closer than the "experts" predict. Martha is not loved like Teddy was- either by media or voters.

From Sue Myrick (Rep-9th NC) Hope Scott brings same passion to Senate

The fraud, deception, deceit and bribery occurring in Washington regarding Senator Ben Nelson’s vote for the ‘any’ health care bill is standard operating procedure. The way a President, Majority Leader in the Senate and the Speaker of the House of... Representatives do business would land any ‘average’ American citizen in prison!

I wasn’t a Member of Congress long when I learned this lesson. I was not supporting a major piece of legislation – and had been very vocal about it. I… Continue

Scott Brown on WTKK

I'm listening to Scott now on WTKK and I wish he would stress more that he will vote against this bill because it will destroy the quality of our health care and ration health care. Abortion is not in the top 5 reasons to oppose this bill.

Ammunition Scott can use for Debates

The following opinion piece in today's WSJ should give Scott talking points about this terrible bill when he debates Martha.

REVIEW & OUTLOOK DECEMBER 21, 2009, 7:33 A.M. ET Change Nobody Believes In

A bill so reckless that it has to be rammed through on a partisan vote on Christmas eve.

And tidings of comfort and joy from Harry Reid too. The Senate Majority Leader has decided that the last few days before… Continue

Will Scott fight for seniors to reverse health care bill and start over in a bi-partisan fashion as McCain wants?

Scott seems fine with the Senate Bill despite the GOP position and Michael Graham's column today.

How Bad Is The Senate’s ObamaCare Bill?

Monday, December 21, 2009

It raises taxes.

It costs at least $2 trillion dollars.

It cuts $500 billion from Medicare, even as Medicare is going broke.

It leaves about 20 million people… Continue

If Scott fights for us on Health Care, we all win!

If you’re bummed out about ObamaCare getting 60 votes in the US Senate, be sure to read Bill Kristol’s latest in the Weekly Standard:

So how should Republicans move forward?

1. Keep fighting on health care. Fight for the next few days in the Senate. Fight the conference report in January in the Senate and the House. Start trying to repeal the worst parts of the bill the moment it passes, if it does.

After all, never before has so unpopular a piece of major… Continue
