The essay contest made me think...how well do Americans know what we're celebrating on the different holidays? I posted this on Youtube. Check it out for a chuckle:

For me, the Fourth of July this year is all about my Uncle Gerald, who lives down in North Carolina. He is very frail now, and is in a nursing home being attended to by doctors and loving family. To look at him you might not guess that he was a WWII hero, who was shot down not once but twice during the war. He named his first plane the…

Hello,
I have lost the home for my column through this campaign, but have gained so much more - new friends, new opportunities, and a new vision for our future. Change is scary, but sometimes you NEED change, just as our country is rising up right now and trying to change through our candidate Mr. Scott Brown. On WRKO I related my story of pulling my column from distribution after my column supporting the senator was removed from the web, but that is truly small potatoes compared to…

Good morning Brigadiers,
If you have friends, family or co-workers who are on the fence about the election or feel removed from the whole process, try sending my column, written with these folks in mind.

Hi Brigadiers,
Just a note to let you all knw that a very talented artist from Michigan stayed up past 1am (I know this by the time stamp on her emails) making the flyer for our Rumble Rides project which is focused on getting senior citizens to the polls. A BIG shout-out to Cindy from Michigan, who is taking the Brown message very seriously, and realizes the national implications.
Thank you Cindy, our new friend from Michigan!
If you can print flyers, distribute…

Hi all,
A few of us are going to set up some teams with captains in order to get seniors to the polls on the 19th. Welcome to the "Republican Rumble Ride." We should have a few team captains that can meet asap to get organized. Anyone else want to help organize? Maybe we can meet at or near one of the campaign headquarters.
Thanks,
Deirdre
The Dems will be turning up the heat like we wont believe this week, so let's get rolling, volunteers!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for those of you who are beginning to respond to the "Republican Rumble Ride" idea. The Rumble Ride idea is going to the campaign now, and hopefully they'll let us know something soon - it would help to organize if they are involved directly. For those of you who can help, please send me your hours of availability on the 19th AND your town so we can begin to map out, should we move on this. My email is Deehumor@yahoo.com. Thanks!!

Hi Everyone,
We are working on an idea, and need some feedback from you here on the blog site. We are thinking of offering "Republican Rumble Rides" to seniors across the state which feature hot chocolate and great old music on the way to the polls. These would be rides from volunteers in their own vehicles from home to poll and back. We would try to post flyers in every senior center in the state. We have the flyer already.
We would give drivers their music CD's, and…

Hi everyone,
Why don't we each pick out a senior citizen in our neighborhood and 1) say hello, check on their well-being, 2) relate our interest and conviction that Senator Brown needs to be elected, and 3) offer ride to the polls? So many benefits to this simple strategy. Seniors need a Republican like Senator Brown in office to protect their rights!!!! This could bring in the votes that make the difference.

Hi everyone,
Here is a link to a column I just wrote about Christmas. Enjoy, or just think about... we must fight for the country we want, very much including electing the Senator on the 19th. (Cut and paste into browser if need be)

There are many undecided voters and "closet conservatives" in Massachusetts, and we have to reach them with a sense of urgency in the upcoming Senate race. Coakley is NOT reflective of the country (check out Obama's current poll numbers!) and I believe is not reflective of Massachusetts if we can get undecideds voting!! Remember, the local and nationa media are catering to the few, as journalists are by nature liberal. But many are worried about so many ways in which this country is veering off…

January 19th is close, but Christmas and Hannukah are closer, and it is so easy to put politics on the back burner because we are so busy with holiday prep. The success in getting Senator Brown elected will be in "Average Joes" working hard right now, even though it's the holidays. I just registered for the BrownBrigade, and have not gotten my "marching orders", but what can I do now, today? I am going to bring up the election in every conversation I am in, and convince whomever I am talking to…
