And don't forget the importance of the governorship this year. Whoever wins gets to be in charge of redistricting the congressional districts. If we don't change the governor, the dems redistrict in their favor and they can potentially control congress for the next 10 years.

Hi Brown Friends, Just to add some info re: the day here, the group for the Bubba/Barney show was NOT huge. It has been estimated at under 2000 people on local news broadcasts. It took place inside (I think the HS auditorium which will easily hold that number and more.
Not surprising though....the last fundraiser BO attended for Patrick his buddy the Gov was held at a function room at the Westin Hotel, not even the ballroom. They could not fill the room even by giving tickets away.
The counter rally was on the Green in Tauton today and had Sean Bielat mingling with supporters doing interviews and networking a bit with some other local candidates. It was informal and fun, like a Sunday afternoon day at the park. No distasteful signs either...mostly just ones with names of local candidates. Many homemade. Unlike the "Barney" professional signs on every seat in the auditorium at the Bubba/Barney event. Bet Barney's sorry he called that constituent more boring than a diningroom table leg now!
He is definitely in big trouble and knows it. No one recalls EVER seeing him behave this way. The enthusiasm is all on Bielat's side and barring a contastrophre I don't see tht changing. Ofcourse the DNC will pour money in here for dirty ads so Seans biggest needs will be cash to counter any late attacks as well as a good ground game for GOTV. Some of that district does pass through much of the state district that was Scott Brown's and is now Richard Ross'. We are fortunate b/c with last May's special election to fill the seat Scott left on Beacon Hill it was a great GOTV trial run.I plan to be at Baker HQ tomorrow and hopefully will have more scoop from that. He pulled even with Patrick in a poll published this weekend. Thanks for what you are all doing to get this word spread so we canfinalize Barney's retirement party. And don;t forget our own CJ in MI...visit her site and donaate if you can. Will bbtomorrow to chat more and pass along any hot tips I acquire. Emmy

I've posted it everywhere!!!! We're counting on Massachusetts again! And we're working on sending Sandy Adams from my Florida district to stand with Sean!!! I promised Suzanne Kosmas' staffers that they wouldn't have jobs after November after the way they slammed the phone in my face when I voiced an opinion they didn't like.

Cool Beans Patty! Thanks for keeping us posted. I do think Brown's brigade needs to play an active role in the Bye Bye Barney campaign.

Way to go Beverly!!! None of the papers reported the crowd for B&B - but from the pictures on FOX, it looked quite small. and no one was smiling. The Globe reported 250 people for Bielat waving signs and having a good time.

The party is being planned. There'll be dancing in the streets the night of Nov.
