The vote to raise the debt limit to $14.3 TRILLION is an illegal vote due to the participation of Citizen Kirk.  Kirk no longer has the right to vote in the Senate based on Massachusetts law.  This needs to be investigated.  SEAT BROWN NOW!

You're right, why is he still voting??????????? I thought his time in the seat was up once the election was over?????
The Weekly Standard had an article just before election day, written by Fred Barnes, stating that GOP attorneys' interpretation was that Kirk's term ended upon the election of Brown. But an article on Big Government website says there have been three 60/40 votes after that date.

So, do we need to march on Wash DC or what?
Yes !!-and it is getting coverage by a woman named Hiller who is a journalist. I called Mitch McConnell's office and got a response that Mass had not seated Brown yet. Yes, but--I told her--that The Republicans were not even mounting a legal challenge to his voting, even though his term is clearly up. Said that if they (Reps) don't show some cojones, they are not going to get my money for their Senatorial races. She pretty much just sat on the phone and said little in their defense.!
I also had called Mitch McConnell's office. The (young?) woman answering the phone at first replied only on the point of Scott being certified and sworn in. I explained that I was calling about the related issue that Kirk's term ended on Jan 19, and explained about the points Fred Barnes made in his article. She said she would pass my comment along. I also called the Mass GOP. I also called Fred Barnes' office at the Weekly Standard to suggest it is a newsworthy topic. It's hard to know what's going on. It may be that the Republican leadership want to pick their battles carefully and the issue of Kirk's term ending date is not a battle they want to push hard on. That being said, my best guess is that a mass demonstration in D.C. or Boston might attract lots of protestors, assuming the "call to arms" was adequately disseminated.
I was disappointed that I didn't hear Brown comment on the raising of the debt cealing (again) even though he wasn't swarn in in time to vote on it, or better put, they voted on it before he could be swarn in. Hopefully it was just because he's busy getting his sea legs so to speak.

Maybe he did comment but I didn't catch it. He has a huge soapbox right now. He should use it.

At day's end we shouldn't put too many hopes on him. He alone will not change the situation but hopefully he is the harbinger of things to come.

In thinking about it, the Republicans are all at their retreat, aren't they? Maybe they have attorneys working on the two issues, i.e. getting Brown certified and sworn in, and simultaneously taking voting privileges away from Kirk.
Thanks for the update. Didn' know that.

I had an old pastor years ago who hated the use of "retreats" He always said something like "No one ever won a battle in retreat and there's plenty of time to rest when your dead."

I'm no expert but elections establish who will take over at point of swearing in. I've been too busy to follow. Has Brown been sworn in yet? From Nancy's comment it sounds like it hasn't happened yet. Just like libs to ram that bondage on our kids through thinking no one would notice, oh wait, their constituency doesn't notice, or care. They are too busy obsessed with daytime TV, Soaps, and the useless lives of self indulgent stars to care about their nation. Good riddance Oprah

Does anyone know if Scott Brown's campaign ended with plenty of cash remaining to fight these legal battles?
