Permalink Reply by Mary Anne Alliegro on January 15, 2010 at 8:22am How to stop this kind of thing? Ask older more experienced people what to do and how to do it. Some of the Republicans must know about this stuff. Are there older people in your office, family, or friends who have been poll workers?
If you have the time and inclination read or have a friend read the poll laws for Massachusetts. The poll laws for WV are in a very thick book. Skim through the list of Contents. Things like describing how the ballot is to be made ignore. Go to the part about what happens to the ballot box after the election.
If you have the staff power, check into having a couple of people drive behind the delivery of the ballots. Make sure you have a cell phone. Any friendly police officers to ride with you?
If people see a LOT of strangers in their neighborhoods at their polling precincts, have the voters right down license plate numbers. This may be VERY important later.
Have I given you some ideas of whom to ask and what to ask and things you might do? Please let me know. Thanks for reading my post.
I'm guessing it's going to be 53% for brown, 3% for Kennedy, and 44% for Coakley. That is just my personal guess based on all the online stories I've been reading.
focus, focus, focus. First, get all the calls in, then get all the voters to the polls, then ask other people with experience to worry about cheating at the polls. This is called work division where everyone contributes in area s they are strong.
Make sure you eat right, get plenty of rest, have your vehicle in good order, and carry a cell phone.
Kindest and warmest regards from West Virginia.
