Jonal arrived in the United States in 1995. He overstayed his permitted time to stay in the US after his family decided to attempt to give him a better opportunity at life than he could ever find himself to have back in his birthplace, Mexico.
Living today in the city of Lynn, MA, he has been attending school ever since arriving in the US. Today a stellar high school student with great aspirations, Jonathan is currently taking several Advanced Placement courses. This year alone he is taking AP English (showing his excellent skills in his adopted language, which became his main language) AP calculus, AP Government, AP Spanish, Honors Level physics all while still taking an internship at CISCO Networks.
He is an extremely active young gentleman who keeps himself focused and out of trouble by taking care of the investment our state and nation have made in him: his high school education. On top of getting himself the best out of his school he is quite involved in extracurricular activities through his church, sports, community service groups helping make Lynn a better place, and school clubs he participates of on a regular basis.
Every investment he has made in the past was all towards one single goal: going to college. Even understanding today that he has grown up in a nation he calls his own, while he does not officially belong here in papers, Jonathan holds on to his ultimate dream “to be able to graduate college and become a doctor. I would love to help people and to better our community as a whole”.
He has never been under any deportation procedure, is not a criminal, and just wants to give back to the nation that has given him so much
